“I want to use the illustration of moving from the broadness of Norfolk to the smaller, somewhat cramped living conditions in London to stimulate ideas relating to freedom, entrapment, deceit, distraction, misconception, seeing further, and perception.”

I attempt to first direct viewers’ attention to the enclosed subject using the obvious vectors of the photographic lighting - softbox and all. The natural backgrounds of Norfolk come more into focus the longer we look. I hope to evoke ideas of breaking through the illusion, recognising the misconceptions, desiring more, expressing and experiencing freedom, and “life outside the box” to be perceived.
